Donald D. Leonard, President and CEO of Leonard, Call & Associates, Myrtle Beach, S.C., has more than 35 years of experience in real estate and development, and with Roger Grigg formed Leonard, Grigg & Associates in 1990. He has a BBA in Finance from Wake Forest University and an MBA from the University of South Carolina.

In 2003, Governor Mark Sanford appointed Don to serve as Chairman of the South Carolina Transportation Infrastructure Bank. The Bank is responsible for selecting and financing the major highway and bridge projects in the state. Federal Highway publications state that the SCTIB is the nation’s leading State Infrastructure Bank, and a model for the country. In 2007, Governor Sanford reappointed Don to another four-year term. In 2010, Governor Nikki Halley appointed Don to her transition team, and in 2011 appointed him to another term as Chairman of the South Carolina Transportation Infrastructure Bank. The bank has been the catalyst for new highway and bridge construction totaling almost five billion dollars.

Don serves on the Wake Forest University Board of Trustees as Chairman of the Administration Committee, and in 2011 received the Wake Forest University Distinguished Alumni Award. He also has served on the Board of Directors of the Wake Forest Deacon Club, and in 2008 was named National Deacon Club Member of the Year.

He is on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the National Bank of South Carolina, the Board of Trustees of the Grand Strand Regional Medical Center (past chairman), and the Board of Trustees of Brookgreen Gardens. Don received the Order of the Palmetto, South Carolina’s highest civilian honor, from Governor David Beasley in 1997.

His community service has included Chairman of the Council of Myrtle Beach Area Organizations, Chairman of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, and Chairman of the Convention Bureau Commission. His service to his state has included the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce and Vice President of the South Carolina Hall of Fame, and he was also on the Board of Visitors of the Wall School of Business at Coastal Carolina University, and the Board of Directors of the United Way.
