Mar Vista Sees Tourism on the Rise, and New Entertainment on the Strand
July 21st, 2010The Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce reports that the Grand Strand is more insulated and will rebound quicker than most of our competitor markets. Our increase in rental numbers from 2009 is a great indicator to support the Chambers opinion. At our current pace, the 2010 season will finish strong.
What could be the cause for such a rebound? Perhaps one mans spoils can be another’s good fortune. We have received a good number of vacationers who originally planned for a gulf coast destination. With the current oil crisis threatening to shut down those area beaches, we have been happy to welcome them to our beautiful Atlantic Coast and the North Myrtle Beach area.
All the new visitors in town will be delighted to know that the North Myrtle Beach Seaside amusement park is now open for the Summer Season. The Ocean Drive or “O.D.” Pavilion as locals call it, is located right next to the famous Horseshoe is open and in full swing. The park offers exciting rides, fun filled games, great food, snacks and much more. Come check it out at the end of Main Street on the ocean front in North Myrtle Beach.
Just down the road the brand new Myrtle Beach Boardwalk is open for the first time ever. It hosts festivals and events all summer long.
- Live Concerts every Tuesday and Saturday
- Kids Carnival on Monday nights, featuring inflatable bound houses, face
- Painters, jugglers, balloon artists, stilt walkers and more.
- Wednesday night features an amazing fireworks display off the newly renovated 2nd Avenue Pier.
